Questions about Botox

1

What is Botox?

Botox (botulinum toxin) is a neuromodulator. This medicine causes the nerve signals to block and thereby relax your facial muscles. Botox thus reduces lines or wrinkles.

2

How long does Botox work?

Overall, the results of botox remain visible for 3 to 5 months. Over time, the body metabolizes the drug, causing muscle movements again. When you maintain botox treatments, the results often last for a longer period of time.

3

When will the results with Botox be visible?

This varies from person to person, but it usually takes about 3 to 5 days to see the effects of Botox. In some cases, it can even take up to 2 weeks before the optimal result is visible. That is why we always recommend waiting for the result to prevent too much botox from being used.

4

Does injectable treatment hurt?

No. An injectables treatment is painless because we use the thinnest needle in the world (THE INVISIBLE NEEDLE).

5

Is Botox safe?

Yes. Botox has been extensively scientifically researched and approved. It is even used in the hospital against various medical conditions.

6

Does Botox provide an expressionless face?

As long as the botox treatment is performed by a cosmetic doctor, this chance is very small. This is because this only happens when too much botox is used. That is why the doctors at Aēstec work very delicately and accurately, so that a natural result is achieved.

7

When do you choose an Aēslift and when do you choose Botox?

An Aēslift is suitable for people who experience loss of facial volume, such as sagging or “hamster cheeks”, and for those who want a fresher appearance. Muscle relaxants, on the other hand, are used to treat wrinkles and fine lines, such as frown wrinkles. Muscle relaxants relax muscles to prevent wrinkles, while fillers are used to fill.

Questions about fillers

1

Can I look crazy/unnatural with fillers?

Unfortunately, there are people who are unaware of their unnatural appearance. In cosmetic procedures, the quality of the doctor and the treatment itself are very important to achieve natural results. Using the wrong, low-quality fillers or improperly placing them in the skin layers of the face can lead to an unnatural look. At Aēstec, we use ultrasound to determine the exact position of the fillers in the face. This ensures that our customers can enjoy natural results in both the short and long term.

2

Why is it important to use an ultrasound?

At Aestec, ultrasound used for two main reasons. First, for safety, because research has shown that the use of ultrasound reduces the risk of serious complications. This allows the doctors at Aestec to accurately see where the fillers are placed and to avoid blood vessels. Secondly, the ultrasound is essential for achieving natural results. Even experienced doctors can accidentally get into the wrong layer of skin without an ultrasound, resulting in an unnatural appearance. That is why Aestec attaches great importance to the use of ultrasound.

3

Don't the sagging get worse once the fillers wear off?

At Aēstec, we work with Juvéderm fillers. These fillers have been used for over 23 years, so we have a good insight into how this reacts in the long term. Stopping using fillers does not mean that the face will completely sag or that skin aging will suddenly accelerate. Skin aging progresses at the normal rate that is associated with your body. Eventually, the skin will age in the same way as people who do not use fillers.

4

How long can I continue to enjoy the result?

At Aēstec, our doctors work exclusively with Juvéderm fillers, the best-selling filler brand on the market. The results of a filler treatment remain visible for 18 to 24 months. After this period, there is no need to undergo the full course of treatment again. A small touch-up is enough to continue enjoying the results of the filler treatment after 18-24 months.

5

Is there a risk of bruising after treatment?

The chance of getting bruises is small. They usually disappear on their own within 2 to 7 days. Any bruise has no adverse impact on the final result and can easily be hidden with makeup. It's even possible to use makeup the next day to disguise it.

6

Does it disappear from your body for 100%?

Yes, Juvéderm fillers are completely broken down and removed from the body. These fillers used at Aēstec consist of hyaluronic acid. This is a protein that is naturally present in the skin. As a result, the fillers are gradually broken down by your own body. The speed of this process may vary from person to person.

7

Can you be allergic to the fillers?

When treated with hyaluronic acid fillers, your skin/body can react to this. Allergic reactions are very rare. If you are unsure or have many allergies, it is possible to perform a test to rule this out (such as the DNA test developed by Erasmus MC).

Questions about Profhilo

1

What distinguishes Profhilo from fillers?

Profhilo and fillers are different from each other. This is because fillers offer the skin extra volume, while Profhilo is a skin booster. It consists of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance produced by the body. This stimulates the skin to make extra elastin and collagen, giving you smooth and radiant skin.

2

What are the guidelines after a Profhilo treatment?

You can get back to your daily activities right away, but it is advisable not to exercise, go to the spa and/or use the tanning bed 48 hours after the treatment. In addition, it is important to always wear a good sunscreen!

3

When can I expect results after a Profhilo treatment?

To achieve the optimal result, a minimum of 2 Profhilo treatments are required, with one month between each treatment. The natural result becomes visible after approximately 6-8 weeks. Because the skin has to work from the inside out, this process takes longer than, for example, a filler treatment, where immediate results are visible.

Questions about Aēslift

1

How long can I continue to enjoy the result?

At Aēstec, our doctors work exclusively with Juvéderm fillers, the best-selling filler brand on the market. The results of the Aēslift treatment remain visible for 18 to 24 months. After this period, there is no need to undergo the full course of treatment again. A small touch-up is all it takes to continue enjoying the Aēslift results after 18-24 months.

2

Can you also treat a sagging neck?

Yes, that is possible. The skin on the neck and décolleté often shows signs of aging more quickly than the skin on the face. This is due to various factors, such as sun exposure, fewer sebum and sweat glands in the neck and décolleté area, and less fat. To treat sagging neck, we use collagen-stimulating fillers and hydration with Profhilo (pure hyaluronic acid).

3

When to choose an Aēslift and when to opt for a surgical facelift?

The Aēslift is a scientifically based treatment method for lifting the skin, adding volume and tightening the chin and jawline only without surgery. An Aēslift is easy because it involves virtually no recovery time and the results are natural.

In contrast to a surgical facelift, this treatment has minimal risk of complications and does not have to take into account the complications of anesthesia. Where the surgical facelift has a recovery time of 6 weeks, it is possible to return to work immediately after the treatment of the Aēslift.

General questions

1

Does injectable treatment hurt?

No. An injectables treatment is painless because we use the thinnest needle in the world (THE INVISIBLE NEEDLE). A filler treatment is also not painful because the fillers contain anesthetic. A lip treatment can be sensitive because the lips are very well circulated and there are a lot of nerves, which is why we use special anesthetic cream. In addition, our doctors will work very carefully and very carefully, so that no discomfort is felt.

2

I have an important event soon, when is the best time to schedule an appointment?

We recommend that you schedule your appointment 2 weeks in advance of an important event.

3

Why do prices for botox and fillers vary between clinics and what makes the difference at Aēstec?

It is essential to get good advice for injectable treatment and to make an informed choice. It's not just about comparing prices and products, but also about assessing the expertise and experience of the doctors.

At Aēstec, the combination of product choice, experience, expertise and scientific evidence provided by doctors makes a difference in prices. We strive to deliver the very best results and the highest quality with a sustainable effect.

4

I'm using an extensive skin care routine, why should I have another injectable treatment?

(Expensive) serums and creams can take good care of your skin and keep it elastic, but they cannot remedy one important consequence of aging: loss of volume. Where young people have volume in crucial areas of the face, losing volume makes for a tired, sometimes grumpy look. Fillers are used to smooth wrinkles and/or restore volume, so that your face looks less tired, softer and fuller.

5

I'm worried about an unnatural result. How do you deal with this?

As a specialized cosmetic clinic in injectables, we take various aspects into account. Not only do we look at someone's unique facial characteristics and age, but also personality, occupation, and ethnicity before setting up a treatment plan. Our holistic approach means that we look at the whole face to prevent unnatural results. We also clearly indicate when we cannot treat something in order to avoid unnatural effects.

6

Can I get treatment during pregnancy?

Because there is still insufficient scientific research in the field of injectables and pregnancy, we do not treat pregnant and breastfeeding women. At Aēstec, safety comes first.

7

If I come for an intake, is treatment immediately possible afterwards?

Yes, it is possible to do the treatment immediately after the intake.
